Jedis

David and Max just had to go to the store dressed up in their Jedi costumes. We got quite a few strange looks. They also got tattoos.

David bobbing for apples

David has a new found appreciation for apples and just discovered the big basin I have that is perfect for bobbing. While he was unsuccessful here. He usually gets his apple.

Buds

David and Max building castles in the sand or maybe those are bunkers. They were referring to how boys love violence earlier.

Memory Lane

I took a stroll down memory lane today and went by the old BCSA campus. This overgrown area is the field where our kids had recess and I taught PE. I really just blew a whistle and wore shorts, but whatever. The K-1 campus is now occupied by an EXIT realty. My old building looks exactly the same and I am not sure anyone is using it at the moment. The last shot is my old classroom that flooded when it came a good rain. Will never teach English again unless I am about to starve.

Cookout

We invited Cousin Kelly over for a cookout tonight so mom could see her before she goes home in the morning. Scott came just in time to cook the chicken and the corn. We also had some strawberry shortcake. Yummy. It was a beautiful night and we sat out and talked until the fireflies came out.

The Big Date

I convinced mom that she needed to go out with Mitch one more time before she went home. They doubled with Scott and me. Had a great dinner at Copeland's. Who knows, she may even give him her phone number.

Clean

I can 't begin to tell how happy I am that my garage is clean. It has been a pigsty for way too long. I finally got rid of the paint that has been in the garage since I moved in six years ago and the computer monitor that has sat there for four years. Why do I keep these things?

Eureka!

Scamming

Mom will kill me for this one, but she is checking out the guys on the internet. She actually found an engineer that she was interested in going out with and after coaxing she asked if he wanted to go to coffee. He uped it to lunch. Way to go mom.

Camp War Eagle

David was so happy to have passed his swim test. He is in the bunk right above one of the counselors. Will be gone for a week. We'll see what kind of pictures I get this week while he is gone.

Doing the Dishes

Believe it or not, David actually enjoys doing the dishes. I am sure it is more that he enjoys playing in the water, but if it gets a job done at the same time, then who really cares. Plus, we got to spend some of that quality time together that people are always going on about.

Mexican Restaurant

Traveling through Texas yesterday we were trying to decide where to go for lunch. Mom started reading off signs and when she saw this one she said, "La Placenta." I told her that I was not interested in any restaurant, especially a Mexican restaurant that highlighted a placenta in its name.

Sky Coaster.VOB

First the Sky Coaster. Next Sky Diving.

Crazy Family

Got together to eat with the family to celebrate graduations and Father's Day, much to my dad's chagrin who is totally against celebrating all holidays, bah humbug. And we celebrated David's birthday one more time at Uncle Bryan's house. Dawn dared David to stick his face in his cake and that was all it took. Not sure if you can see it, but that is his name in blue icing under his nose. Nice! That's my boy. Sorry dad.

Automatic Teller

So we are sitting at lunch after doing the sky coaster and David sees this sign and he asks me if we can go listen to the automatic teller after we eat. I, of course, had no clue what he was talking about. he said he wanted to hear the story the automatic teller had to tell. Well, that was just the cutest thing ever. I had to explain that the only story an automatic teller would be telling is how pitiful our bank account was looking. I like his idea of an automatic teller better.

Royal Gorge

David and I decided to take the plunge and ride the sky coaster out over the Royal Gorge. This is a view of the gorge from the bridge and a pic of Grammy with her blessed Texas flag.

Rocky Mountain National Park

Even though it was cloudy most of the trip, we still got some great views from Trail Ridge Road. Mom & Amy started to get a wee bit nervouse when the pavement ended and we started driving through the clouds. Needless to say, we didn't make it to the end of the road. When we got back from our drive there was a deer in our campground. David of course tried to chase it down, but to no avail.
